My extended family of 11 people did a Monkey Mangrove boat tour with guide Diego, and it was everyone's favorite part of our entire trip to Costa Rica. Diego was knowledgeable and passionate as he explained the nature around us. We saw SO MANY monkeys, a crocodile, and more. This was a great excursion and worth every penny of the $50 per person.
This was the best day of our whole trip in Costa Rica!! If you are looking to really feel like you are immersed in the mangrove with the wildlife, this is the tour you should go on. Truly an incredible and intimate experience. We will be back!!
We went as part of sizeable group of about 30. Our guide, Andrey, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The trip through the river was very enjoyable and we were able to view a huge number of monkeys of all ages.
Our kayak Mangrove tour was one of the best parts of our trip to Costa Rica. Our guide, "Crazy Alex" was the best guide we had through our trip. He was well informed, was an animal whisperer, and showed us pretty much everything, even sloths that other guides kept missing on the same trip. We also saw monkeys, iguana, lizards, crocodiles, many birds, turtles, and 3 sloths. The kayaking is calm and peaceful, except for the last 10 minutes when you pedal against the current.
Excellent Tour. We saw Monkeys 🐒, Slooths, Turtles 🐢, tons of Birds and other Wildlife. The river has two parts, sweet and salt water and vegetation changes with many mangrove trees. The guide had excellent knowledge about Flora and Fauna. Can only recommend
Seeing monkeys so closely and learning about their lives with a knowledgeable guide Diego was facing. The monkeys were so gentle, curios and adorable! They walked around the boat and one of them found a worm on the wall, picked it up and ate it right in front of us!
This was one of the best tours we experienced during our two weeks in Costa Rica! Our guide, Crazy Alex, was wonderful. Born and raised very close to where the tour is, he was a wealth of knowledge, and clearly LOVES sharing his area with others. We had a blast! Do not hesitate to book!
